Royal Leamington Spa Events (RLS Events) has seen a surge in wedding bookings and enquiries at their two events venues, The Royal Pump Rooms and Jephson’s Gardens.

The Warwickshire based venues has recorded an increase in bookings and enquiries, which sees the average spend rise by 20% compared to the same time last year.

The venues, which are managed by venue management and catering experts, KUDOS, has accredited the increase in bookings to a booming wedding season which has seen couples book dates earlier than usual. The avoidance of ‘peak summer months’ is reported to have been a factor in the boost of sales, which sees clients opt for ‘off-peak’ dates such as Christmas time, late August and October compared to April, July and September last year, this is due to couples no longer being able to guarantee weather regardless of the time of year.

Besides the weather or price, the wedding venue is still seeing an increase in new customers, this is due to an ever growing trend of prospective nuptials deciding to move away from city weddings and into a more rural setting similar to that of Jephson’s Gardens; many of these weddings however, are electing to abandon traditional marriage tropes such as top tables and tiered wedding cakes by replacing them with newer ways of celebrating, including ‘informal’ weddings which sees traditional catering replaced by BBQ catering, speeches held at different times of the day and lots of entertainment and games.

Commenting on the recent influx of enquiries, Emily Shakespeare-Jones, Head Event Maker at RLS Events said: “The recent rise in bookings is really promising and shows that the wedding industry can remain strong throughout the year.”

Shakespeare-Jones continued: “We’ve seen many clients returning to their hometown of Leamington Spa, with one of our customers coming from as far as Japan! This shows that our venue has a potent appeal and one that draws in couples looking to marry in a serene and picturesque location.”
